Cheche Alara

As a producer, arranger and performer, Cheche Alara has worked with an impressive roster of today’s musical mega-talents. He has toured with Christina Aguilera as Assistant Musical Director and Keyboardist, and has worked with Destinys Child, Ricky Martin, Enrique Iglesias, Eric Benet, Oscar de la Hoya, John Patittucci, Russell Ferrante and Chita Rivera, among others. As a Musical Director, Keyboardist and/or Arranger, Cheche has been a featured performer on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Saturday Night Live," "The David Letterman Show," "MTV Video Music Awards," "American Music Awards," "First Annual Latin Grammys Telecast," and "Good Morning America," as well as numerous appearances throughout Latin American television. He also served as Musical Director for "42nd Street" and "Guys and Dolls."


Alara’s passion for music extends far beyond the realm of performance. After attaining a B.A. in Orchestration from the Berklee College of Music, and a Masters in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern California, Alara stayed active in promoting musical education. In working with the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, Alara developed courses specializing in traditional Latin styles, Afro-Cuban, and Brazilian music, as well as jazz styles and contemporary urban genres such as R&B, hip-hop, funk and pop. He has also been a writer for “Musico Pro,” the largest Spanish-language music magazine worldwide, since 1996.
