Mark Isham

Mark Ishams dynamic and diverse musical career has included a Grammy, an Emmy, and multiple Grammy, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for his material as both a composer and a recording artist/instrumentalist. Raised in a musical household, Isham began playing classical piano, trumpet and violin at a young age. He jumped into the new world of electronic music while in his early 20’s and quickly gained recognition as a synthesizer programmer.

Never abandoning his love of playing the trumpet, Isham continued to perform and record with some of the greatest musicians of our time – The Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchell and Van Morrison, to name a few – in addition to working on his own critically acclaimed albums. His latest record, “Miles Remembered: The Silent Way Project” was awarded Best Jazz Album in 1999 by The London Times, while “Blue Sun” (1995) was named one of the Top 100 Jazz Albums of the Decade by Downbeat.

In 1983, Isham made his feature film composing debut with Disney’s critically acclaimed “Never Cry Wolf.” He has since worked on over 50 films, including “The Majestic,” “Life as a House,” “Men of Honor,” “Kiss the Girls,” “October Sky,” and “A River Runs Through It.” His ability to move seamlessly from genre to genre while drawing from a blend of classical, jazz, and pop music has kept Isham in high demand.
