Ray Yslas

This internationally known percussionist, an Mexican-American of Los Angeles, has been keeping pretty busy these past few years…He was nominated Best Percussionist of the Year, has performed on most Award shows with many different Artists, performed on the title song of the award winning show Sex and the City, and toured with major artists in both the american music and latin music scene.

In January of 2002, he finished a fourteenth month world tour with the Backstreet Boys. In April of 2002, he began performing with Patti Labelle, and still does the gig once in a while. He got married in June 2002 , and his lovely wifes name is Erika. Since then, he performed on the Tonight show with Anastacia, the Latin Grammys with Alejandro Fernandez, recorded on the new Strunz and Farah c.d. Rio de Colores, release date in July 03, also recorded in Mexico with Graciela Beltran, that c.d. Is already available. He played on an episode of Cedric the Entertainer. He also perfomed with the Rippingtons, did some shows with good friend Peter White, also with Patti Austin and Criag Chaquico and numerous recording sessions with producer Enrique Martinez and other producers. He recorded and toured with Mexican superstar, Joan Sebastian in Mexico and the U.S.

While all this is going on, he begins to work with Christina Aguilera in October…the promotional tour took him to the Bahamas, New York, Mexico, etc. He then joined Christina Aguileras Stripped Tour, which ended in December 03, then performed on the Grammys in 04. Ray, along with his business partner, Dave Shephard, started a production company, Raydius Music, in late 2002. Also, Ray and his lovely wife Erika are now proud parents of a beautiful baby boy, Diego Ramon Yslas, born Sept.5 2003.
