Scott Kinsey

Keyboardist Scott Kinsey, best known for his work as part of the critically acclaimed electric jazz band Tribal Tech, delved into the world of synths at an extremely young age. His father, a jazz pianist with a passion for new synth technology, gave him the necessary encouragement and equipment to launch his career. While studying jazz piano at the Berklee College of Music, a friend recommended Scott to a well-known band in search of keyboardist. The young musician made a favorable impression on the group, and just one day after his college graduation, Kinsey was en route to his first gig with Tribal Tech.

In addition to touring the world with Tribal Tech, Scott has performed and recorded with jazz greats Kurt Rosenwinkel (The Enemies Of Energy), Bill Evans, Robben Ford, Philip Bailey (Soul On Jazz), Gary Willis Band (No Sweat, Bent), WDR Big Band, The Free Association (David Holmes Presents The Free Association), Garsed/Helmerich (Uncle Moe’s Space Ranch), Norrbotten Big Band (Future Miles), Tim Hagans (Animation Imagination), Bob Belden (Black Dahlia), Matt Garrison (Family) and many more.

Kinsey has also lent his production skills to Philip Bailey (Soul On Jazz), and Joseph Zawinul (Faces and Places). More recently, he has ventured into the world of film music, working with composer David Holmes as the primary keyboardist on the scores of Ocean’s Eleven and Analyze That. He is also working on his debut solo album, which will feature Steve Tavaglione, Vinnie Colaiuta, Arto Tuncboyaciyan, Robert Hurst, Cyril Atef, Kurt Rosenwinkel and more.
