Tauseef Akhtar

Born into a family of musicians in India, Tauseef Akhtar was initiated into music very early in his childhood. At the age of 15 he recorded his first album (Aashiyan) as a music composer, and since then, he has never looked back.

Tauseef joined the Bollywood family in 1993. He has since worked on more than 30 film soundtracks as a chief assistant music director, arranger and programmer. Apart from this, Tauseef has lent his vocal talents to a number of original film compositions as well. With years of music production under his belt, he as amassed an impressive number of credits—an accomplishment that is even more meaningful considering that he is completely self-taught.

Currently, Tauseef works from his well-equipped production studio in Mumbai, India where he recently decided to switch up his monitoring setup with some new additions from M-Audio. “I had been working on Genelecs for years,” he explains. “I was amazed at the results when I compared the M-Audio BX8s with them. I’m very happy that I finally own monitors like the BX8s which translate my sounds so accurately.”

And to add yet another item to his already impressive resume, Tauseef is preparing to start playing live with Soul Fusion where M-Audio gear will be well-represented on stage.

Tauseef uses the M-Audio Ozonic, Solaris Microphone, Studiophile BX8 Monitors, Ableton Live, Propellerhead Reason, Wizoo Darbuka and Latigo, and ProSessions Sound and Loop Libraries.
